Travel Agent or Nah?

Updated: May 30, 2019

Before Travel Snob became the official travel agency for your luxury destination trips on a budget, I was just like you, “I can find a deal! I don’t need help from a travel agent when you have the internet of endless possibilities!” But I was in for a rude awakening when I found myself planning a trip for the very person who gave me life, my mother. Can you imagine having to put together a surprise destination 65Th birthday all inclusive trip in Punta Cana for not a few people but at least thirty! That’s thirty different personalities from the start of planning this event till the very end! Don’t get me wrong, I love my mother with all my heart but coordinating a trip with her friends and family of this magnitude while working full time, was just like putting together a wedding! STRESSFUL! So, I bit the bullet and called an agency. For me it was about the best deals, yes that coin is key, especially when you are funding a pretty big chunk of the trip and I must say, the level of stress I had went from 10 to 5. This agency made it possible for me to focus on creating an experience for my mother while she did the leg work of coordinating rooms, collecting payment, and ensuring my guests had the ultimate experience to the very destination I selected, by the way it was Now Onyx Resorts in Punta Cana (another blog, another time).

So, the question is, should you work with an agency for your next travel needs? I mean that’s up to you. But because of this agency I managed to lock in a specific rate for my guests, coordinated advanced payment plans (again coins), provide expectations to our guests and my only responsibility was to make sure the guests of my mother’s surprise trip said nothing on social media! I also spent LESS than what I would typically spend seeking last minute deals, so think about that and consider Travel Snob to relieve the very level of stress you don’t need!
